Greetings and Farewells again,

Last year and a few weeks ago, I mentioned the desire to push a new update before the end of 2023. Obviously that did not happen, and in all honesty I have not touched the project or the software since then.

There were things I wanted to do that I figured would be better as a story told uniquely through writing, and potentially as well through an audio rendition. That is why I started to write "Derelict Hearts", which you can find chapters of on my website, and some of said chapters as audio renditions (however do note that this is AI voicing. The novelty of it back then was wondrous and exciting, were you to set aside questions of morals and ethics):

I figured it was also a better deal than a VN, because you really didn't choose much of anything in here. The visuals were uninteresting, and you could really just do with reading a story. Perhaps this was simply because I liked the idea more than the execution, but you cannot know unless you try (and I do like VNs, maybe it's some sort of tribute to that? No idea).

Now that this is said, I've actually finished writing Derelict Hearts. Even hired an editor to go over it bit by bit. The more I work with this the more I want to make this an "official" thing — I'd like to see this work get published eventually. Maybe this year, maybe next year.

However, I do not plan on giving up on this project per say. The VN, sure, it's likely I won't work on it further. But I very much like the idea of turning this, eventually, into a written story. I have no idea when, it's just a likely if. Some topics are easier tackled in a setting that welcomes them as naturally as breathing is, after all.
